Is there a reason why you stopped watching the show after season one? And do you plan on watching the rest?

mostly it was that the hiatus between season 1 and season 2 was so long that i had an entirely different vision for where i personally was interested in seeing the show and characters go than the actual show did 

idk if people remember how long that hiatus felt, but a year and a half (if this wiki and my memory are right) for a kids tv show is long time

and you’ll see this happen with me (and other people) in other fandoms too: the longer the haitus, not only the more people expect when something returns, but the more specific ideals they want it to meet. one of the best examples of this is bbc sherlock (i’m sorry) between seasons 2 and 3. the fandom had an entire 2 years to come up with theories as to how sherlock survived, and then not only didn’t get a satisfying answer, but didn’t get an answer at all and yes i was part of that nonsnse

in a year and a half between s1 and 2, i found things i didn’t like as much about the show, i wrote a WHOLE lot of fanfiction, i became more critical of what existed, and i figured out what i wanted. which..isn’t really monster of the week and isn’t the handing out miraculous to various classmates thing they’re going with 

which is fine if you like it! it’s just not really for me (at least right now) 

i also found new interests. by the time s2 started, i was in a different fandom, i started new ask blogs, i was writing new fanfic. i was going to college and having a terrible time, and there’s a reason my vent fic was no longer ml and was instead for a fandom that was much much more serious in terms of mental health. i didn’t feel as comfortable projecting those feelings onto what is intended to be a fun show for kids, so i didn’t. and vent fic was a huge reason i initially wrote for ml

now, while i occasionally write fic for zines, my focus is on original fiction. the only fandom i claim is ace attorney (somehow), because i really don’t want to be as involved in fandom anymore. and i haven’t really had a desire to watch any more of ml, even when it does cross my dash. maybe someday, maybe certain episodes, but not the way i used to 

and i’ll fully admit that thomas is a reason i stopped watching. i didn’t even follow him on twitter but some of his tweets (particularly about chloe) were incredibly frustrating, as was how he handled various discourse that came up. it really made me not trust him as a show runner, at least with some of the material he was working with. i know that’s vague but i don’t feel like pulling receipts right now 

ALSO i just don’t watch tv. that’s a thing about me that developed in the past few years. i do not have the attention span for television, episodic nature is not really my jive right now, and i am very busy. i don’t even watch tv shows i think that i’ll like 

so tl;dr: the hiatus was too long, astruc frustrated me pretty hard, and i suck at television shows. so i probably won’t be watching any more of the show (aside from the nyc special because i might watch it with some friends even though none of us have watched since partway through s2)

I was so worried at first when it showed up empty and the reveal that it had been deleted - the fight scene between mb and the infected humans after mb finds that out was CHILLING, and then mb’s breakdown afterwards OHH it rly sees art as a friend I am Upset!! And then when mb managed to bring art back, I felt so immediately reassured, art is so dependable!!! The banter between the two of them AS SOON as art came back im so. AHHHH I love their friendship so much!!! Their arguments rly had me alternating between laughing and clutching my chest in Pain. Art rly brings out mb’s emotional side n it’s so clear that art has come to care for mb so much too!! Ofc neither of them will admit any of this to the other tho :’DDD also their apologies after they came to an understanding… AHHH

And BIG YES to character interactions I love character interactions, it was nice to still have some of the familiar characters in this book n I also loved reading mb interacting with new characters as well!! (2/2) Also the plot of this book was great, I rly enjoyed reading a full length novel of mb n it had everything I loved abt the previous books. It rly made me reflect abt all of mb’s character development :’) the exploitation n dehumanisation of people under capitalism, what happens when we don’t see other people as people, that is explored with mb’s introspections abt its existence n trauma n personhood, and throughout the whole plot w the abandoned colony n corporatisation of planets, while still managing to mix in great action n humour to make it a rly engaging n fun read I’m!! Yelling!! And the ending with mb feeling touched that everyone came to rescue it I am cryin!! It just shows so well that you SHOULD care abt others and it is SO GREAT!! I rly hope there’s gonna be more books, I would love to see more of mb n art!!! and yeah the banter between them is SO good because like. i think it really reveals things about them both that you dont see in them interacting with humans (or, in mb's case, with other bots)? because they are so singular in who they are and they dont have an absolute overlap but they're both very unique even in the world of constructs. i agree their interactions really do flip flop wildly between delightful rude bickering and punching you to the floor out of NOWHERE. you can see so much of who they are revealed in their interactions with each other in ways that their interactions with the humans don't. they both really genuinely care about each other in a way that is so unique to them (it's pretty funny but also a bit frustrating to see the humans interpret it as an analogue to a romantic relationship, because you can see where they're coming from and it works for humour purposes but also it misses so much of the nuance and the point of how they relate to each other which is that they're both Not human and consider each other as genuine equals and don't have to hold up pretenses of mimicking human behaviour to understand each other or make the other feel comfortable - i saw it somewhere as "my friend who is mentally ill in the same way i am" and it's definitely that, but also i really relate to it as an agender/aroace person and i imagine there's a lot of different ways it Can be interpreted there--anyway i'm rambling lmao) I JUST THINK THAT ART AND MB'S FRIENDHSIP!!!!!!!!

AMENA MY BELOVEEED mb sees a human and says "is anyone going to very grumpily protect this person with their life" and not even wait for an answer. i really love the mini-arc amena gets over the course of the book of coming to understand mb and its place in presaux and its position as a team member and who it is as a person ;-; and also amena herself being both very teenagerish but also incredibly adaptable and competent!! the friendship they develop over this book is really enjoyable i agree :D

YEAAAAAH EXPLORATION OF THEMES WE LOVE THAT!!! martha wells does SUCH a good job of exploring concepts of personhood and portraying mb's trauma as something both very unique and alien but also very very understandable and familiar to a lot of people in a lot of different ways and it's kind of incredible. it really is amazing to go back and reread ASR after this and see just how far mb has come and how much it's changed and grown and how much it's managed to get through and survive ;-; the change in its attitude towards itself (there's a line in NE that makes me Bonkers - "I was a thing before I was a person, if I'm not careful I could become a thing again") from where it started in ASR with grouping itself in with the equipment,,, man. the bit at the end of NE with mb realising that everyone came back to rescue it - something that only one person (mensah) had EVER done before, because mb was DESIGNED to be an expendable resource and these people who care about it said No, we aren't abandoning you, because you're a person and we care about you--MAN!!!!!! IT GETS MEEE

and YEAH the commentary on capitalism and corporate shittiness with how it's both over-the-top nightmarish and horrifically Real,,, man she writes it so well it's so good like you say with the mix of humour and the different kinds of story!! i kinda love that murderbot diaries are for the most part in the form of serial novellas because it really feels like the same kinds of media that mb loves in-universe with its serialised shows, and it allows for so many different kinds of story arcs to happen like murder mysteries and space horror and action thrillers and YEAH it's just so delightful and i really cannot wait for more to come out!! and thank YOU for sending me your delightful reviews and giving me a chance to ramble :DDD if you ever want to ramble some more (on or off anon or just dm me out of the blue!!!!!) I had a thought the other night. How do the Sevii Islands play into Leaf's story? If I remember correctly, a lot of this side plot happens after beating the E4, and given Leaf leaves not long after beating them I was curious. I hope you don't mind me asking!

actually, leaf leaves about a year after beating the e4 (so one year there and 2 years abroad to make for the 3 year timeskip)

(im deadass i havnet played in the sevii islands for a while but ill try to post what i remember)

the main thing about the sevii islands for leaf was that. thats where green ran away to after he was beaten at the indigo plateau. after prof oak expressed his very clear disappointment and green having to. stand there and listen to his grandpa praise leaf on how she got there. he. fucking got on his pidgeot and left. 

no one knew where he went and he was missing for weeks. daisy got worried sick and during this time leaf got in a fight w/ prof oak and scolded him about the way he treats green because “He’s nothing like what you seem to think he is” 

and she’s right. prof oak is just bitter and scared that green would turn out the way Agatha did

side note backstory headcanon real quick: prof oak and Agatha were rivals when they were young. they went to the same school and were best friends and rivals just like green and leaf

and Agatha actually loved him but he didn’t see her that way because. he thought she was too obsessed with power (she was) and didnt like the way she treated her pokemon (it wasnt horrible, but she only really used them as tools to fight and he thought it was wrong)

so when he found his future wife (greens grandmother) she became angry and bitter and it strained theyre relationship a lot. eventually they just. hated each other 

so the reason why prof oak was always scolding green and “why dont you treat your pokemon nicer” and all that.,. shit he told him at the league.,.was because of that history he had

growing up he kind of projected onto green what agatha was (even though he was never really like that) which was why he was always discouraging him from becoming champion and why they had kind of a tense relationship when green went on his journey

so after prof oak was like. scolding green at the league. (i forget what he was saying something about how he was disappointed in him. even though he made it this far. all by himself. same as leaf. and he treated his pokemon fine.) leaf went to talk to him about this and that’s what sparked the fight + leaf learned the whole backstory™ from both him and agatha previously

so she scolds him on it. because. hes wrong and green really isnt like that. he loves his pokemon and the prof was wrong to treat him that way. so she tells him that shes gonna bring green home and when she does he better fix his attitude because by god green does not deserve this

and shes right

so daisy talks to bill, asks him if hes seen green. he tells her he heard he might be down at the sevii islands. so daisy begs him to bring leaf there to find green. and he says sure. on the condition, I get 3 boxes of oatmeal cookies

and shes yeah, sure, fine, whatever you want. so bill takes leaf to the sevii islands (hes always on the ss anne. he probably has like free tickets for life [thanks lance]) 

she finds green there. hes still pretty depressed but. he lowkey helps the older people that live there. when he first sees her its like this mess of emotions because. its leaf. (and this is post saffron keep in mind so hes still confused and messed up about how he feels about her) so hes. happy, angry, sad, proud, everything. luckily she convinces him to talk and though hes a mess, his tone comes out bitter

theyre like. probably in mt ember or something when this al happens bc no one else is around. she asks him to come home, he replies why should he when no one wants him there anyway. his gandpa hates him, he says, and shes probably rejoycing too that hes finally out her way and. here we go. they have another fight.

though its less like a fight and more like shes getting him to finally vent out everything hes been holding in because fuck. he always acts so tough and strong but he does still feel things. and hes the one yelling and angry and she just. keeps her voice soft and calm because. he is at this point. the weakest hes ever been (and ever will be until…..things……………..)

and so they fight about why he left, and how he cant stay there. and how daisy misses him and is worried. and how prof oak doesnt hate him, they just need to talk about it. and how she doesnt hate him, and she never did. and hes. shocked by the last part. and its just a deep and kind of sad talk between them and also. the point where green sees her more of a friend than a rival.

and at the end of this hes sitting down and hes like. not even angry or depressed hes just fucjifnd sad and disapointed in himself and he thinks hes disapointed eveyone and leaf just. hugs him around his neck. tightly. and hes caught off gaurd. hes just sitting there with his hands awkwardly hovering. 

and she tells him that they all miss him. and theyre all worried for him. and he hasnt dispointed anyone. and that everyone is proud of him and everything hes done. and that. shes proud of him. and she wants him to come back with her and hes just.,., “.,…////..//./..,.” 

and he finally. hugs her back. and. burried his face in her neck and. just melts into her. and they stay like that for a while and hes. happy shes here for him so he decides fine, ill come home. because fuck it, i cant run from this forever. might as well get it over with. fuck. its worth it if i can maybe get more moments like this, he thinks

and then of course. bill comes in. and inturrupts. and “Oh there you guys are- oh.” because THEYRE STILL LIKE. IN AN EMBRACE. 

AND LEAF BLUSHES AND PANICS AND TRIES TO PUSH GREEN AWAY but green is. no. his arms are LOCKED around her . he aint ready for her to leave him yet. bill can fuck off

eventually they go back to the ss anne to head home and green is. still green. so hes like you know what. im gonna use this situation to my fullest advantage. because he really liked that hug. and he. acknowledges the fact that. when hes close to her like that its. nice. 

so that night fnhjdfj forgive me folks. he goes to her room to hang out. and shes like yay!!! hes getting back to normal!!! thank arceus!!! and theyre chilling on her bed like. watching tv or talking or something. and hes probably using her lap as a pillow hes a spsidl spoiled fucking brat. and when it comes time for him to leave and go back to his own room hes like. how about i stay here instead

and shes like,,.,., what.,.. ?

and so he pulls this bullshit pitty card shit (i hte him) about how hes sad (hes not anymore) and he doesnt wanna be alone (big fucking liar) so he wants to stay therw tih her. and at this point hes like fuckingnjfkd cuddling up to her and shit and shes “U-uhh..i d-….don’t…know if this.,. uhhh” shes a blushing mess, mind you

and fyi, hes been thinking about saffron like., 90% of the time ever since it happened. he cant get it out of his head. ever

so he has his like arms wrapped around her waist and his head resting on her belly and hes. fucking. (i HATE HIM) giving her these like puppy dog eyes????? AND SHES WEAK ALREADY. AND HE ADDS THIS SOFT LIKE “Please, Leaf?” 

so shes ok,. fine ,,.,.. and he immediately goes back to his shit snarky self and adds something along the lines of “I knew you’d come around/give in eventually/couldn’t resist me” and shes blushing and stuttering and a total mess and hes just grinning and teasing her he loves her reactions and. theyre back baby.

meanwhile. pom is happy. the gang is back together and vee is pretend gagging. pom punches him

when they get back to pallet town, leaf brings green to talk to prof oak. and the talk actually goes good. prof oak tells him his whole story(he’d never told them before) and apologizes for the way hes acted. and hopes that green would consider like. spending more time together. and hopes he can forgive him(ofc its yes. green loves his gramps despite everything)

he tells green that leaf is one amazing girl

seeing monsta x at the airport in sf!

hello i really wanted to do this post!!! this day was so much fun and i met lots of people. i’m going to write this post in bullet points bc i feel more comfortable writing it this way. so .... yeah i’ll just start here?? lol this is gonna be long

so the day before, july 19th, my friends were originally going to sleep over then just head over to sfo early in the morning

we didn’t even know what time they’d be arriving so we were like ok lets just go at 5am!

they didn’t end up sleeping over so i had to pull an all nighter bc i don’t trust myself waking up

i also chose what i was gonna wear like an hour before we left bc i always do things last minute hhdfcdjh

my mom and i left my house at 5am and i was slowly getting tired so i got coffee from starbucks to keep me up

like i didnt even sleep since 2pm the day before .....

after picking up both my friends we hit the road!

there was traffic but the drive wasn’t too long and we arrived at sfo around late 7??

ive never been to the domestic terminals so it was kinda confusing

my mom dropped my friends and i off at terminal 2 and just left to go to a mcdonalds lol

my friends and i wandered around terminal 2 on the 2nd level,, we were at baggage claim and didnt really know what to do

we went up to the first level and it was like where people left to board and where people arrived?? idk how to explain it im sorry

there was a starbucks there so my friends got stuff and i didnt cos i was fine

my friend constantly checked twitter for updates and monsta x hasnt left yet 

at this point it was like 9am, all three of us pulled all nighters, and we didnt see anyone else who looked like they were waiting for monsta x

we then headed to terminal 1 level 2 and chilled there for like 30 minutes maybe

monsta x still hadnt left so we looked at remaining flights and the ones they’d most likely be on were in terminal 2 so we moved there

there were seats there and outlets so i charged my phone and we all just sat

my friend went to go get her internet friends and we all just chilled in the little seating area

it was about 10am and my mom brought us food bc we did not eat at all

my 2 friends left and i was left w my friend’s friends ..... yall i dont wanna use names bUt YoU know what i Mean

there was a guy and asked us if we were waiting for monsta x and wow !! we met another fan ! so there was just a lil group of us

after like 20 minutes of just looking at pictures we decided to leave and it was 5pm

so basically my friends and i waited at the airport for 8 hours without sleep to see mx for less than 2 minutes

it was so worth it lmao

my friends and i slept in the car on the way back home tho so there’s that!

well that’s how it went down when i saw them!! idk if i should post pics from the airport since it happened a few days ago but ... yea

i met my childhood idol TWICE this weekend and i dont think im gonna be the same ever again

super longwinded and probably kinda cringey/obsessivly detailed post under the cut

ok so when i was 11 there was a show on cbbc called mission 2110 and the main character, caleb, was this cyborg dude w a robot arm and headset and he was fighting against evil robots who’d taken over the world, and most importantly, he was played by stuart goldsmith. 

i saw a sign around uni for a comedy show at the basement, york, by (you guessed it) stuart goldsmith. so of course i had to go, if only to make childhood-me happy

i turned up alone and Very early. i waited outside the venue for a while and saw stu leave and go for a walk around york but I wasn’t 100% sure it was him so i didnt approach him then

when we finally got in i sat on the front row between a group of elderly people and a drunk hen party - as soon as stuart got on stage, he started his introducing himself/the show, talking about the venue and warming up the crowd spiel, but instantly froze when he saw the hen party (he was surprised that they were there and kept sort of forgetting his train of thought and going back to the fact the entire front row was a hen party, cos they’re not his usual audience)

he started the gig and im not gonna go into huge detail about that in this post cos there’s no way i’d do any of it justice thru words (plus theres gonna be a tour dvd sometime ;) ) but at some points he interacted with the audience (usually the front row) so i’ll mention those 

the first Direct Interaction was when he spat directly onto my shoe while talking. he looked right at me, stopped his joke, and said ‘yes, i know what just happened. i know. it was Entirely Intentional.’ and kept going as if nothing had happened at all (it was fuckin hilarious cos no one else even saw it happen so the crowd was like ?????)

& for the part where he asked about jobs, he asked me and i said i was a student so he firstly asked what i wanted to do after - but straight away asked what i studied. i shrugged as a response to what i want to do after the degree (cos who knows lmao) but he took that as a response for what i study and made some quip about me not even knowing what i study n how that’s just a Typical Student Thing isn’t it?

(apparently when robots take our jobs, psychologists will be replaced by tape recorders on legs)

during the break (NOT an interval) i was talking to the people beside me (not the ones in the hen party) about york and scarborough and floods and bands and everything, they were so nice 

not much happened in the 2nd half of the show (other than the fact i almost CRIED laughing, honestly that dude is SO funny), but he said he was gonna hang around afterwards to sell tshirts and say hi to people, so i decided to ask him about cbbc’s mission 2110 (which was my favourite show ever and also the place i know him from)

so, after he’d told his last joke (one about raisins, which i remembered on the drive home and had to pull over cos i was laughing so hard i thought i was gonna crash the car), he said goodbye and got off stage etc etc, i queue up to say hi. straight away he reaches out to shake my hand & say ‘hi mate, thanks for enjoying the show’, that kinda thing

i asked him about m2110 and his face LIT UP, i thought he was gonna hate me for reminding him of it but he was happy and said that was his dream job, all the robots were played by his street performer friends, and he cant wait for the day that one of the kids from the show turns up to his gig

i asked him for a photo after that and he was like ‘yea, of course!! ill even do the pose!’ and put his hand to his face like caleb from m2110 did (im grinning at the memory while typing this, its such a dumb photo but i look insanely happy and he looks exactly as i remember caleb looking)

i asked how m2110 ended (i never got to see the last ever episode), and he looked like he was going to tell me but when i said i hadn’t seen the last ep he said ‘i’m not gonna tell you then!!’ (cmon mate its been deleted off the internet for like 8 years now :(!! )

all in all i think the first show was just how a typical comedy gig goes, but the 2nd show things got different (in a good way)

i decided to go again when i found out he was going to be in leeds 2 days later, and i took my friend who was disappointed that she’d missed the first show

we got to the front row and had to sit directly in front of him (we were gonna sit a bit further across but other people wanted to sit there first), so when he came up on stage to do his intro he glanced at me, then snapped back to do a double take - ‘are you BACK???’ he asked, pointing at me, ‘you were in york the other day, weren’t you?’

i gave him a thumbs up, high enough for most of the crowd to see, and he grinned, crouched a bit and started talking to me about the york show’s crowd - the fact there was a hen party, how surprised he was about them, and then that the weren’t as rowdy as we both thought they were going to be - after a minute or so, he stood up again and said ‘this is more of a chat than a show, isn’t it?’ & got on with the show.

i honestly can’t stop thinking about the “what’s your name, where you from, where d’you do your howling?” part of the show cos it’s never something i thought of before, but every day since then i’ve screamed in my car to a song and it’s kinda therapeutic (he pointed at me when he asked about howling, he points at a random audience member for each question) (also SOIL) (also also the bit about wanting to do a mic drop but with a microphone made of meringue) 

in the break, the person behind me tapped me on the shoulder and asked whether it was different from york or better/worse than york, and whether i’d been a fan for long, etc etc 

after the break, stu got back on stage and thanked us all for coming back - then asked whether there were any ‘guilty empty seats’ next to anyone. the guy in the seat next to mine didn’t return after the break, so the person next to him and i pointed at the empty chair on the front row (he said something about how he respects that decision cos the guy came alone anyway) 

“shall we mix this part up a bit? could you shuffle these?” he asked, and gave me the flashcards while explaining how this part of the show worked (he workshops jokes from flashcards, they’re in a set order for every other show but he wanted to make it different for leeds, and so gave me the cards to decide the order)

i panicked a bit though cos I was so shocked, so i just shuffled them randomly instead of reading the cards and what they said (oops), and i put an interesting one on top - it just said ‘R’ in a circle and i couldn’t think what joke that would have been so i put it first.

i gave him the cards back and he looked at the top one like ‘uhh, no, i cant do this one first, that’s possibly the best bit of them all it’s gotta go at the end’ (which made me realise it was the raisin joke at the end of the show, so i told him how it really is because I had to pull over on the drive home it made me laugh so much - to which he fist pumped and yelled ‘now THAT’S a review!’)

before moving onto the content on the cards he talked about how he wishes he could go on stage to an audience who’s already ‘warm’ to him so he doesnt have to waste his 2nd best joke so early in the show, so he was planning ideas to get the crowd hyped before he even came out. he sat on the empty chair next to me and talked about how if everyone’s hyped enough then he’ll get a standing ovation etc etc, then stood back up, jumped on stage, and we all stood with him and clapped - ‘yeah, keep going!!! no one sit down! dont do it!’, after a few seconds i was losing my balance but i thought it’d be Funny if someone sat down, and Funny if that someone was me, who everyone knew had been to the show before. so i sat. 

‘NO!! she’s sat down! that’s it i guess, it’s over isnt it, alright then, you can all stop now i suppose’ (tbf i feel slightly bad for it BUT it made it all funnier anyway so it’s chill, i hope)

because i hadn’t looked at the cards every time there was an unexpected one he glanced over to me, ‘is this really what you want? you want this one?’, sighed ‘okay then’ and did the bit. the one about the squirrel (’you really want the fuckin squirrel one???’) kinda flopped cos it built off a previous one in york so he said that at least he’s learnt that it has to be in a certain order to be funny (youre welcome)

after the show when i went to say hi & thank you for letting me control the cards etc (i never actually said that cos i got distracted, ended up talking about how one of my twitter friends & her family is friends with him and his family but he asked who i was talking about and im like ‘uhhh i dont know her name we use nicknames online uhhhhhhh sorry’ lol), when he saw me he lifted his arms and went straight in for a hug (I HUGGED MY CHILDHOOD IDOL) & thanked me for coming back again so soon

i asked if he could sign something for me but all i had was a yellow envelope (’oh! a yenvelope!’) nnd a sharpie wrapped in tissues cos it leaks (’uhhhh lucy, why is it wrapped in tissue? oh, it leaks? well, if i were you i’d wrap it in something, maybe a tissue?’) & signed the envelope with ‘you are too big a fan! :)’ which is the most true thing anyones ever said about me, ever. he also asked if i wanted a photo or anything but i said i’d already got one n he was like ‘oh of course you do’ lol

anyway yea we left after that and i’ve been screaming internally ever since cos i never thought id ever even meet him but then i saw him twice in 3 days and he recognised me, let me influence the show AND hugged me. im still amazed. im in awe. stuart goldsmith is such a wholesome guy and im waiting (im)patiently for his next tour

EDIT: i just remembered that during the last joke i was laughing so much that i was crying and i was fanning my face, and he saw and was like ‘are you ok there?? you good??’ which made me laugh even more, jesus,

The Trip of a Lifetime

as i sit here in the CTV room, the day after we got back from nashville at 2:54pm wanting to go home bc im literally running on 3 hours of sleep and alfredo thinks its a good time to be a good teacher and let his tv1 students edit their musicals????? i can honestly say, the separation anxiety from the group and withdrawals from STN as a whole are so real and so heartbreaking. being able to wake up and walk 2 feet to whatever room i choose and behind the doors are some of the people that i love the most. its so surreal. before this trip, we were, mere, a group of friends. but as the trip progressed, we became a family. and thats cliche and all. but for STN2017, i can’t say that. i can’t say we were a family. STN2018 exceeded my expectations and i wouldnt change it for the world.

Since i didn’t blog the night of trash n i’s individual. lets get into that. we got into the room with the prompt pickup 30 minutes before and we met up w schwammy and chadster since movie trailer was also getting their prompt at the same time as we were. i think my favorite part of prompt pickup was the fact that a guy from ithica college or whatever the heck it was called. CAME UP TO US AND STARTED TALKING ABOUT THE COLLEGE MEANWHILE ITS 8:29 AND THE PROMPT COMES OUT AT 8:30. the clock struck 8:30 and the amount of speed ashton n i whipped our head around to get the prompt seemed so extra but that ithica guy had it coming freakin idiot. anyways. we got the prompt and we didnt look at it until we got outside by the big staircase. we read it and we booked it back to the room to start brainstorming. we got an idea kinda fast, we both unanimously agreed to take the metaphorical route of I Walk the Line. bc we thought everyone was gonna go the geometry route. WHICH THEY DID AND IT WON????????? IM FINE WE’RE FINE. ANYWAYS. we got our concept and we start filming and filming without a script and without shot comp in mind or written down is VERY difficult and lead to much frustration and confusion and doubts in our story line. seeing THE ashton bosse break down bc he was not proud of what we were doing and he thought it made no sense at all had to be the most heartbreaking thing to have witnessed. i think i wouldve lost it too.. bc as the one to figure out the concept, i still had no idea what it was about tbh. i had no idea wth we were filming and what order it was being filmed in. i think one of the main reasons i didnt break down was the fact that i KNEW that no matter what footage we got.. we were gonna pull thru and it was gonna be amazing. and it freaking was. ashton and i went into the editing room so chill thinking, “what we got sucks, we’re just gonna put some clips together and export” so throughout the whole 3 hours, we LITERALLY had a picnic, within the first hour we had eaten a bag of popcorn, doritos, laffy taffy, ASHTON ATE ALL THE FUN DIP, and some gummy bears. we were literally so chill that we took a photo booth picture on my laptop of us catching the gelatinous bears in our mouth. its iconic. we also kept loooking back at becca and chad and nicole n bri and they all seemed so into it but meanwhile ashton accidentally spilled a cup of water after specifically telling me not to, OH AND I HOPE TAYLOR FINALLY GOT THE RIGHT SANDWICH #iykyk anyways trash n i exported and had about 15 minutes to spare. we were both so incredibly unexpectedly proud of the outcome which was surprising bc we literally watched it again after it was the hard drive and it ends and we look at each and other and simultaneously shrug our shoulders and go "yeah ok." seeing jimmy pg's face as it ended when we showed them after really made me feel like we had done something right and made me more confident than i was already. he always stressed to make it clear, and to make the audience feel what you want them to feel, and he said we did that. so that was dope. 

anyways after we waited for becca and chad and schwammy's face when he met up w them was the cutest thing ever. you guys killed it #proud, bri n nicole were next and literally i dont think anyone has experienced 2nd hand stress as much as everyone watching them TRY to export did. but they did it woo. felipe and melissa freakin exported w 45 minutes to spare. APPLAUSE TO EVERYONE BC ALL OF CTV MADE DEADLINE.

line dancing was probably the greatest excursion (#vocab) we had all trip. ACTUALLY DAVE N BUSTERS I LOVEEEEEEE MY LIGHT UP PINEAPPLE SHOUTOUT TO JAKE MAYOR AND SHOUTOUT TO JIMMY PG FOR NAMING US THE BEST NEWS SEGMENT IN CRAZY 8'S BC GIRLLLLLLL I WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO WITOUT IT. just a little apprecation post for my #softnews/softstanduppartner BUT back to line dancing. dancing like freakin crazy bats and in a circle and just hearing ethan yell FAMILY the whole time just idk like becca said it was surreal and i couldnt believe that i was able to be there in the presence of such talented individuals and be able to call them my best friends and the group of people that i can go to when i need a shoulder to lean on. 

STN went by way too fast and it literally felt like 2 minutes but the days felt like 47 hours. the exhaustion and the constant walking around that damn hotel was so unnecessary but i would do it all day everyday if it meant being with this group of people forever. 

to the presidents; thank you for leading us. thank you for leaving such a legacy that will be so hard to follow but one that we will try so hard to surpass. thank you for showing me what the family side of ctv is which ive been waiting for since my freshman year. i love you all as individuals and even more as leaders.

to my fellow officers; no better group to lead with than all of you together. we each have our own qualities that added up to one amazing and successful year.

to the senior oldbies; thank you for everything you've done and thank you for not giving up on this club even if it is your senior year and all you guys wanna do is graduate. youve showed massive perseverance and determination. and even if some of the seniors are newbies this year, youve impacted my life and have inspired me to be better and do better.

to my underclassmen newbs; its just the beginning guys. you all have 2 more years left and you guys are such passionate, persistent, and happy individuals and you should all be proud of what you guys have accomplished this weekend. and don't lose your drive to create and better yourselves as creators and journalists. youre in for a hell of a high school career. 

to andrew n gabby; we are going to be seniors. its time to put everything we've learned and to turn it into everything we'll teach. to the newbies of this year and to the incoming newbies. i love you both. i can't wait to continue the CTV legacy. we can make it a 4peat. i know we can. 

and last but not least,

to alfredo pichardo; i cant begin to express how grateful i am to be able to follow in your footsteps. thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me into your world of TV production and to experience what it is to have the greatest high school experience ever. whether it be from ctv or sga. you're there through it all and i wouldnt want it any other way. i love you immensely and i hope i've made you proud and can continue to making you proud. because who knows. i might be changing my college major just because of this trip.

and with that. my stn2018 experience has come to a close. 

here's to the laughs, the tears, the wepahs, but most importantly the bond that we've all created and i hope to keep that bond for as long as possible. i love you all always.
